In 1929 Terrence Holder left the 'Dark Clouds of Joy' band and Andy Kirk took over, renamed it the brighter sounding 'Clouds of Joy', moved to Kansas City and began to enjoy enormous popularity second only to Benny Moten's Kansas City Orchestra . The range and diversity of the repertoire is amply demonstrated on this "Lotta Sax Appeal" CD.
